International ideas design competition

Baharash Bagherian was selected as a finalist to design an iconic arts centre/ opera house, within the Thames Gateway, which will serve as a visual landmark to the entrance to one of the world's most exciting, vibrant and culturally diverse cities, London.

The international competition attracted over a 1000 entries from over 120 countries in the world.

The judges, which included world-renowned architects, felt it was "a serious piece of architecture - an intervention that, critically, relates to both the land and the water".
